FAQs

How many people may go on a single fishing charter ?

The USCG permits six people on a charter whether they are fishing or just riding, 6 is the max. Sorry no exceptions!

What do I need to bring ?

You are welcome to bring your favorite rod along on the fishing trip. The boat will provide all bait & tackle. You will need to supply your own food & drinks, sun block or lotion. Also remember sunglasses, long sleeve shirt or light jacket for cover up. Rain or foul-weather gear may be needed at times & tennis shoes or deck shoes.

What do we do about fish ?

The fish caught on any Hatteras fishing charter are yours to do with as you please. There is a fish cleaning service at the Marina, in addition they will also vacuum bag & ship the fish for you for a fee. We will abide by all state and federal fishing regulations.

What time do we leave ?

The boat normally leaves around sunrise, if you would like to leave later, this can also be arranged. The boat returns to the dock between 4:00 & 5:00 in the evening.

Do we tip the Mate ?

Yes, it is customary to tip the mate 10-15%. The mate works hard from early morning to well after you leave.

Can we buy beer ?

You must plan in advance. NC. Law prohibits the sale of beer & wine before 10:00 am & noon on Sundays. If you are up late save some for the next day.

What about bad weather ?

Trips will be cancelled at the Captains discretion. If weather is bad your deposit will be refunded or you may re-book your trip.
